Gone Unnoticed

I see her every day. 
She passes me by and I wonder:
“Does she notice me? Does she even look for me?”
She walks away.
I look at her and I ponder: 
“Does she know I’m looking for her?
Does she know I was sent her to protect her?”
I’m looking right at her
“Why won’t she look back at me too?”

Suddenly, she stops. 
She turns around slowly and looks my way,
Almost as if she could hear my thoughts. 
She is looking right at me, yet, she doesn’t see me;
Almost as if I wasn’t there. 
I was right there, looking back at her. 
She sighed of disappointment, 
As if someone had broken her poor and restless heart.
Again, she turned around and walked away…
I see her every day, 
She passes me by and I wonder…

Every night I could hear her cry.
She cries for a lover, a best friend,
Someone to make her smile,
Someone who understands. 

Every night I could hear her pray. 
She prays for a miracle, for an angel,
One heaven-sent to come take her pain away. 

Every night I could hear her tears drop.
Tears from her heart, tears from her soul.
She falls asleep, hopes and wishes for someone to make her whole…

I heard the drops of her tears, 
They made their way to my heart,
As I bitterly taste each one.

I heard the pleas of her soul,
All the way to the depth of my heart,
As her prayers made their way to heaven. 


I heard the cries of her heart,
Reaching me all the way in paradise, 
As the angels join her in harmony, 
Crying out to be set free…
I see her every day,
She passes me by and I wonder…

I come to her in a dream, 
And bless her with a kiss;
Hoping that tomorrow when she wakes up,
She will find her way to my arms…

But tomorrow will come, 
I will see her again.
Just like I see her every day, 
She will pass me by, yet, she won’t see me. 
“Why?” should you ask. 
For, so many broken hearts had made her build a wall so high, 
That even today, as I become the answer to her prayers, 
She will pass me by, 
She won’t see me standing there, open arms.

She passes me by and leaves her love, gone unnoticed…
